Hello Capicola’s Gourmet Sandwich Company!

Sandwiches, cronuts, lattes! Oh my! ❤️

Capicola’s Gourmet Sandwich Company is a cute sandwich shop located in Torrance. They offer a variety of cold and hot sub sandwichs, paninis, pizzas and salads. For those who like sweets, they offer cannolis, cheesecakes and cronuts (yes, cronuts- those crispy, flaky donut+croissant delights!!) For latte lovers like me, they have various coffee drinks and lovely lattes! I found myself at this neat eatery one nice Friday.

I was with a friend and we decided to have lunch here. We decided to split a sandwich and chose to get the shaved oven roasted prime rib panino. This is one loaded hot sandwich. It was oozing with oven roasted prime beef ribeye, gorgonzola blue slaw and strings of caramelized onions. Capi’s horseradish was on the side for dipping. It was one hearty and delicious sandwich! The roasted prime beef ribeye was so tender and the slaw and caramelized onion toppings gave it so much flavor. Even the bread used for the sandwich was great! Freshly toasted, it gave an extra crunch to the hot sub.

For our side, my friend and I got truffle fries. The truffle fries had little squares of parmesan cheese sprinkled on the top. The fries were fresh and crispy. It was great when dipped in the three sauces that accompanied this side dish. Dipping sauces were ranch, thousand island and ketchup. I liked the fries but a little more truffle oil and parmesan cheese would’ve made it even better. It was however a good match with the sandwich.

Capicola’s is famous for their cronuts and there was no way I would pass up on the delightful, delectable treat! Today happens to also be National Donut Day and so I definitely had to get some of the hybrid crossiant/donut creations from here!

I got a raspberries and cream cronut! This was topped with two fresh raspberries and raspberry glaze. In the middle was sweet cream!

I also got a strawberries and cream cronut. This was topped with slices of fresh strawberry, powdered sugar, cream and strawberry glaze. It also had sweet cream in the middle.

With it’s flaky crust and sweet toppings, each cronut was definitely a treat! It’s no wonder that Capicola’s is famous for these because they not only look great, they are tasty too! They are perfect for national donut day and any day! 😉

This sandwich shop put a smile on my face for several reasons! It’s a cute shop all around. I loved how the food was laid out on newspaper like paper. I loved the fresh sandwiches and baked goods! I love that is also a coffee shop offering flavorful coffee drinks. Coming here made for one very smiley Friday for me. 🙂
