Hello Tamistea!

Filipino-owned, Filipino-flavored, and Filipino-loved, I am absolutely loving Tamistea, the newest coffee shop to open in Torrance!

The name Tamistea says it all. “Tamis” means sweet, and the name perfectly captures their delightful mix of pastries and drinks.

Their menu ranges from espressos and tonics to creative lattes. I couldn’t pass up the Mais con Ube, a gorgeous ube latte topped with crispy cornflakes. The drink was creamy, subtly sweet, and had that comforting, nutty flavor from the ube. Each sip felt like a little cozy indulgence.

Tamistea also offers a variety of pastries, with cookies being their specialty. I tried the ube chocolate chip cookie, and it was a dream. I loved how soft, chewy, buttery, with a gentle nutty sweetness that complemented the ube perfectly. It was quite the treat!

Being a Filipina and a coffee lover, I absolutely loved this sweet, cozy spot with a Filipino twist. Tamistea is definitely worth a visit, and I can’t wait to come back to try more of their drinks and treats!
