Hello and Farewell, Black Angus Torrance! 🤠

Black Angus in Torrance was always the place I wanted to go when I was a little girl. It was just down the street from where I grew up, and every time we passed by, I’d look up at the big sign and wonder what it was like inside. It seemed like the kind of place grown-ups went to celebrate something special. But somehow, I didn’t actually eat there until I was in college. And when I finally did—it was warm, welcoming and as special as I imagined.

It quickly became a go-to for cozy dinners and comfort food, and a quiet little tradition I didn’t even know I was building. Now, after 50 years in the South Bay, Black Angus is closing its doors for good. Today is their last day.

And for one final visit, I knew exactly what to order.

To kick off the meal, I started with their famous molasses bread—warm, soft, and slightly sweet, served with that perfect whipped butter. It tasted like comfort—like nostalgia baked into a loaf.

Then came the loaded baked potato soup—creamy, rich, and packed with all the good stuff: cheddar, bacon, scallions, and pure comfort. It’s the kind of soup that makes you slow down between bites, just to savor every spoonful.

And finally: the top sirloin, cooked just right, alongside a generous helping of au gratin potatoes—golden, cheesy, and bubbling in all the best ways. It wasn’t just a meal; it was a memory in the making.

Thank you, Black Angus, for being a little dream when I was small, and a comforting classic when I finally found my way inside. You’ll always be part of my Hello Foodie Jenn story—and a beloved chapter in the South Bay’s. 💛🐂🥩
