It’s a Friday night and I find myself in what looks like a Japanese alleyway or Yokocho. I can smell the savory broth of ramen as well as hear the frying of crisp tempura. Am in Japan? Alas’ I am in Torrance at Torrance Yokocho!

Torrance Yokocho recently opened up at the Rolling Hills Plaza in Torrance and stepping in one can instantly feel like they have been transported to Japan! It truly looks like a yokocho. Just like at a yokocho; this spot has different eateries one can choose from. The main difference here at Torrance Yokocho is you can use a QR code or your phone to quickly order and pick from the nine different eateries!

During my visit here; I can say it felt like I took of tour of Japan with my food choices. I tried the Tsukune (ground chicken ball skewers) and Harami (beef inside skirt steak skewers), Tori Paitan Shoyu Ramen and Assorted Tempura.

Just like Japan; all the food was delicious and tasty! The tempura was crisp, the skewers were tender and the ramen was so heartwarming. It truly took me back to the Land of the Rising Sun. I even ended the meal with a nice cup of Green Tea!

I definitely hope to be back to Japan for a trip soon but in the meantime; I can get a taste of my favorite travel destination right here in Torrance!
