It was such a sweet treat attending the Yelp Elite Experience at Dulce Canela! Known for its Latin-inspired desserts, this local gem served up a sampler platter featuring freshly made churros, fried Oreos, and sweet plantains, paired with a scoop of ice cream.

One thing that stood out right away was that everything was made fresh to order. The short wait was well worth it, especially once the warm desserts arrived.

The flavors of the day for the ice cream were vanilla, banana, and horchata. I couldn’t resist the horchata, and it ended up being one of my favorite bites of the afternoon. It was creamy, smooth, and perfectly spiced with just the right hint of cinnamon.

The churros were the undeniable highlight. Fresh from the fryer, they were golden on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, and coated in just the right amount of cinnamon sugar. The fried Oreos were another fun indulgence, offering a warm, chocolatey center wrapped in a crisp, golden batter.

Rounding out the sampler were sweet plantains, offering a naturally sweet, caramelized flavor that beautifully balanced the richer desserts.

From the warm hospitality to the freshly prepared treats, Dulce Canela made this Yelp Elite Experience one to remember. If you’re looking for a spot to satisfy your sweet tooth, this is definitely one worth adding to your list.
