Urbane Cafe just opened its doors in Rancho Palos Verdes, and I couldn’t be more excited to have this healthy and delicious spot in the South Bay! This is their first location in the South Bay, and they also have restaurants in Ventura, Santa Barbara, Pasadena, Long Beach, and Bakersfield.
This was actually my first time visiting Urbane Cafe, and from the moment I walked in, I could see why they’re so loved. The space was buzzing, the staff was incredibly friendly, and I was greeted right away with a warm, “Welcome to Urbane Cafe!” And their tagline? “Delicious is in the Details.” It totally fits—they truly live up to it.

Their menu is filled with tempting options—sandwiches, bowls, salads, and soups.
The UC Banh Mi was my sandwich of choice. It’s a flavor bomb in sandwich form: roasted chicken, cucumbers, cilantro, pickled carrots, fresno chilis, and pickled white radish, all tied together with a sweet chili aioli. What makes it next-level? That house-made, fire-baked focaccia bread. It’s soft, warm, and seriously addicting—it takes this banh mi from good to can’t-stop-thinking-about-it. It is the best!

Next up: the Mediterranean Bowl. It’s packed with wholesome ingredients—whole grain rice, kale, sweet potatoes, cucumbers, tomatoes, pickled onions, hummus, and a zesty tomato cucumber salsa. I added cilantro chicken, but you can choose from several options like BBQ, grilled, or spicy chicken. Everything worked so well together—it’s fresh, hearty, and full of flavor. And yes, this bowl also comes with a side of that heavenly focaccia bread!

Of course, I couldn’t leave without trying dessert. I grabbed a chocolate chip cookie, and it was soft, warm, and the perfect sweet bite to end the meal.

I am so happy that Urbane Cafe has landed in Rancho Palos Verdes. Great food, welcoming service, and serious attention to detail—it’s everything I love in a casual dining spot. Welcome to the South Bay, Urbane Cafe!
