Bread, Espresso & has officially landed in Redondo Beach, marking its first U.S. location! Opening this past January 30, 2025, this beloved Japanese bakery, with 37 locations in Japan, brings its signature Mou bread—a perfectly cube-shaped delight—to SoCal.

For my first visit, I tried their French toast plate, which featured Mou bread as French toast, topped with a hot dog (!) and served alongside a fresh salad and a yogurt parfait. A combination I never knew I needed! To round it out, I grabbed a drip coffee with almond milk, supplied by Caffe Luxxe, which paired beautifully with the meal.

I also took some treats to go, including their famous Mou bread—soft, airy, and absolutely delightful. I couldn’t resist adding a cinnamon roll, chocolate Mou, and the unique edamame bacon Mou to my order, each one offering its own take on fluffy perfection.

If you’re in Redondo Beach, this spot is definitely worth checking out for a taste of Japan’s renowned bakery culture. I’m so happy they’re here in the South Bay!
