We’re full into the “Ber” months which means it’ll be brrrr…cold weather soon! One of my go-to foods during chilly weather is Korean tofu soup. There is something really comforting about a hot pot of hearty soup filled with tofu. I’m thus so happy to see the opening of Gaya Korean Tofu and Grill in Torrance.

The menu consists of traditional Korean tofu, stews, rice and noodle dishes. I love getting the Tofu Combination which comes with a mini tofu soup along with a classic Korean dish such as Bulgogi and Bibimap.
My favorite Korean tofu soup here is the Dumpling with Beef. It comes with large dumplings filled with beef along with tender pieces of beef. I always get this as a mild to give it a perfect little kick.
Each of the orders come with plenty of banchan (Korean side dishes). These include kimchi, kongnamool (bean sprouts), gamja salad (potato salad), oi muchim (cucumber), chilled tofu and spicy tofu strips. My favorite from the banchan are the oi muchim and the gamja salad. The gamja salad has a nice sweetness to it with sliced apples and carrots.
The food is here is delightful and you’ll be sure to leave happy with a smile. It’s definitely perfect for chilly days and the holidays coming up!
