Hello Mastro’s Steakhouse Beverly Hills!

In celebration of friendship, the blessings and lessons of 2016 and the new beginnings of 2017,  I recently had a wonderful dinner at Mastro’s Steakhouse Beverly Hills.

Mastro’s is located Canon Drive in Beverly Hills and their cuisine headed by Executive Chef Walter Mayen.  Many frequent this place for special occasions. Walking in, I could see why this place is so popular. The place is beautiful with dark cherry wood furniture, soft dim lighting and they even a live band for the weekend. It’s perfect for special occasions or any type of celebration.

Dinner here starts with their popular bread basket. Their bread basket is truly exceptional and one of the best that I’ve ever had.  The assortment of bread includes sourdough, pretzel bread and a garlic crisp. The pretzel bread and the garlic crisp were two of my favorites. The garlic crisp I found to be full of flavor. Breaking bread at the Mastro’s dinner table is definitely a tradition not to be missed.

As for the main course, it is no surprise that he menu focuses of course primarily on steak. They’ve got several different types and cuts from filets to ribeyes. The special of the night was a special Wagyu beef. My friend and I ended up getting a 24 oz Porterhouse which they graciously cut for us. True to their steakhouse fame, the porterhouse was tender, juicy and all the things a good steak should be.

To accompany the Porterhouse, my friend and I got two sides.

The first side we got was the Roasted Brussel Sprouts. The brussel sprouts were crisp and caramelized.

The second side we got was the Gorgonzola Mac and Cheese.  This was creamy and cheesy. Served piping hot, the cheese simply melted to perfection.

Last but definitely not the least for this meal was the dessert. For a sweet end, we chose to get the creme brûlée. The creme brûlée is accompanied with whipped cream, peaches, strawberries, raspberries and strawberries. The creme brûlée itself had nice, soft texture. It was not too sweet in taste and the delicious custard was a wonderful ending to a very nice meal.
