After 6 weeks of going meatless for Lent and being on a pure vegetarian diet, I had meat today. I had a google offer that was about to expire and this was the time to use it. I got to celebrate Easter with quite a Brazilian bbq feast when I went to By Brazil restaurant.
First up at the feast were the offerings from the buffet and salad bar! From the hot buffet, I tried, the Lasagna, Rice cakes, Polenta, Yucca, cheese bread and garlic bread, Collard greens, Beef stroganoff, Black beans, Feijoada black bean stew and Yucca flour. From the salad bar, I got the Lime and cilantro coleslaw and potato
The beef stroganoff was the most intense of all the buffet offerings. It was cheese based and packed with the meat! The meat in this dish is just a sample of what was to come with the churasco.
The churrasco is brought to your table and I tried a little bit of each meat! There was Polish Sausage, BBQ Chicken Thighs, Pork Loin Marinated in Passion Fruit, Marinated Skirt Steak, Tri Tip, Top Sirloin (Picanha), Garlic Beef and Smoked Short Beef Ribs. Each meat offering was distinct in flavor and fulfilling!. For someone who was not eating meat for six weeks, this was meat overload.
I ended this great feast with a sweet treat, the small but sweet plantains. This was also from the hot buffet. A little fruit dessert was a must after eating all that savory bbq.
