About Me

Food has always been more than just a meal to me — it’s a way to tell stories, connect with people, and find little moments of happiness.

I’m Jenn Marie, the blogger behind Hello Foodie Jenn, where I share my love for sweet bites, savory eats, and all things kawaii. Even though my career is in engineering, this blog is where I express my passion for food, writing, and capturing the small joys that make life sweeter — one post at a time.

My journey with writing began as a student at UCLA, where I joined the Daily Bruin Electronic Media team and discovered how words could bring experiences to life.

After earning both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in engineering, my travels to different cities opened up a whole new world of flavors. Each trip introduced me to diverse food scenes, inspiring me to document those delicious discoveries.

What started as casual notes turned into a passion project — my blog — with the simple goal of bringing “a smile to everyone, one small blog post at a time.”

Hello Kitty has always been more than just a cute character to me — she’s a symbol of kindness, joy, and finding happiness in the little things.

Growing up, some of my favorite memories were visiting the Sanrio store in between my dad’s cooking sessions. He was the best cook I’ve ever known, and while he worked his magic in the kitchen, I’d get lost in the world of Hello Kitty — picking out stickers, plush toys, or little trinkets that always brought a smile to my face.

That love carried into adulthood, becoming a signature part of who I am. Whether it’s a Hello Kitty purse on my shoulder or a tiny figure tucked into my bag, she’s always along for the ride — reminding me to stay curious, playful, and always ready for the next foodie adventure.

When I started the blog, I knew I wanted to bring a little bit of that same joy to others. That’s why I love incorporating Hello Kitty into my photos — a small, familiar friend adding a sprinkle of kawaii charm to every meal. My blog isn’t just about food — it’s about celebrating the little things that make life sweeter, one post at a time.

Since launching Hello Foodie Jenn in 2012, I’ve been fortunate to collaborate with brands such as Sanrio, Moon Oral Beauty, Brickcraft, Franzese, Gringo Bandito, A-Sha Noodles, The Charm Galaxy, and ABC Stir-Fry Noodles, and with restaurants including Rubio’s Coastal Grill, Turn Dough, Urbane Cafe and Melo Melo Coconut.

In 2013, I became a contributing writer for South Bay Foodies, sharing stories from Southern California’s vibrant food scene.

One of my proudest moments came in 2014 when I covered the VIP/media night of Hello Kitty Con at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles — a dream come true for both the foodie and Hello Kitty fan in me. That opened the door to covering more exciting events like:

    •    Walk With Sally’s White Night, White Light at Manhattan Beach Studios

    •    Hello Kitty’s Supercute Friendship Festival at The Forum

    •    Hello Kitty x ColourPop Launch Event at Pour Vous

Along the way, I’ve been honored to receive The Versatile Blogger Award and become a Yelp LA Black Badge Elite member for over seventeen years of sharing honest reviews and supporting the local foodie community. My work has been featured in California Apparel News, The A.V Club, NBC Los Angeles , Los Angeles Times, Adobo Nation, Voyage LA, Bold Journey Magazine, Canvas Rebel and even the official instagram account of Sanrio
— a little fan girl dream come true!

    Hello,

I am Noa Berger, VizEat’s Community Manager (http://bit.ly/Wf1vx3). We connect locals and travellers who’d like to discover a new culture with hosts who welcome them at their home around a meal.

Using VizEat is very easy and straightforward: hosts post their meal (this could also be an aperitif, brunch, wine & cheese, etc.) select a date & price, choose their guests and then share an authentic moment around a home cooked meal!

I would be delighted to discuss a potential partnership. There are numerous mutually beneficial opportunities that we can present to you.

Would you be available for a 10 minute chat so that I can give you more details about the partnership and what we are proposing?

We look forward to welcoming you on board!

    Kind regards,

    Noa Berger
