Rakkan Ramen has long held a special place in my heart (and stomach!) as one of my all-time favorite ramen shops in LA. When I saw they were participating in dineLA, I knew I couldn’t pass up the chance to visit and try out their multi-course dineLA menu.
First Course: Spicy Garlic Chili Edamame
The meal kicked off with a classic starter: edamame. You get a choice between lightly salted or garlic chili-spiced—and being a spice lover, I went with the latter. Let me just say, they weren’t kidding about the heat! Each pod was generously coated in a fiery blend that brought some serious flavor (and a little sweat). If you like a little fire in your food, this one’s for you!

Second Course: Hand Rolls with a Twist
Next came the hand rolls, and I was pleasantly surprised by the variety. I chose the Umami Roll and the Green Roll.
The Umami Roll was a standout. It was stuffed with garlic-sautéed mushrooms, seaweed salad, and crispy fried onions. Rich and savory with every bite. The Green Roll brought a lighter, crunchier contrast, featuring deep-fried broccolini, creamy avocado, and crisp cucumber.
Together, they offered a fresh and flavorful interlude before the main event.

Third Course: Spicy Quartz Ramen
For my ramen selection, I went with the Spicy Quartz Ramen. I’ve always been a fan of the creamy Quartz ramen, but this time, I wanted a little bit of spice. This ramen had a creamy broth-meets-spicy-miso combo that is unbeatable. The broth had that perfect balance of heat and richness.

Dessert: Coffee Jelly and Matcha Mochi
Saving room for dessert was a wise choice.
The Tokyo Drip featured Japanese-style coffee jelly topped with sweet cream. This was not only visually fun to eat (pouring the cream over the jelly is oddly satisfying), but it also delivered a bold coffee flavor—perfect for a little caffeine kick to end the meal.

The Matcha Mochi Ice Cream was classic and refreshing—frozen balls of cool, creamy matcha goodness that cleansed the palate beautifully.

Drink Pairing: Homemade Lemonade
To wash everything down, we each got a drink included in the prix fixe. I opted for their house-made lemonade, which had just the right amount of tartness to cut through the spice of the ramen. Super refreshing and a great complement to the meal.

Rakkan Ramen’s dineLA menu was everything I hoped it would be—bold, flavorful, and well worth the $35. It’s a thoughtfully curated lineup that gives you a little taste of everything that makes Rakkan special. Whether you’re new to the restaurant or a returning fan like me, this dineLA offering is an absolute must-try.
