It’s National Dessert Day and honor of this sweet day; I’m sharing one of the sweetest spots in town; Turn Dough in Venice Beach, California!

Turn Dough is definitely the place to be for some unique and delightful desserts! Located at the heart of the Venice Beach boardwalk; this sweet shop is the first ever place in Los Angeles to offer chimney cakes. Chimney cakes are a traditional snack from Hungary that is made from sweet yeast dough that is rolled into a long rope and baked around a cylinder.

What is neat about Turn Dough is you can actually see how the chimney cake cones are made. They are always baked fresh right after you order! After the chimney cones are made; they will spread dulce de leche inside the cone. The cone is then topped off with a Vanilla Bean soft serve ice cream and toppings of your choosing.
I chose to get the Minnie Macaron Chimney Cake. This delightful Disney inspired chimney cake had a rich spread of Dulce de Leche on the inside and then on the outside; it was topped with the sweet ice cream, French Macarons, Rainbow sprinkles, and a handmade Minnie Mouse bow on top. I love anything Disney and this sure was one magical treat!

One can also get chimney cakes upside down and in a cup. For this visit; we tried this with the Nutella Dream. This is one of the most popular chimney cakes in the shop. The creamy vanilla ice cream is paired with sweet Nutella and is topped off with some Kinder Bueno candies! This is must for all Nutella lovers! Pro tip: getting the chimney cake upside down definitely makes eating the ice cream earlier.

Aside from chimney cake; this Turn Dough offers belgian waffles, soft serve gelato, milkshakes and chimney cakes. There is something for every dessert lover.

This is the sweet shop to be in Los Angeles and perfect for National Dessert Day!
